Writing
Writer’s Workshop will be a time each day for children to use the writing process. This workshop will follow the framework of gathering for a mini-lesson or crafting focus sometimes including the use of mentor text, then sending students out to compose and explore the writing process, conferencing with teachers or other students, and then gathering again for reflection. The majority of workshop time is spent with children writing on a topic in a variety of genres.
