Meet your Teacher

WELCOME TO THIRD GRADE, and to Meadowlark Elementary school!  My name is
Mrs. Austin and I am thrilled to be your teacher!  It’s going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures.  I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.  I want to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Belle Fourche, SD.  I attended college at 3 different universities over the years.  First I attended Black Hills State University, then Dickinson State University, where I graduated with my teaching degree in 1999.  I also attended the University of Wyoming, where I got two additional teaching endorsements.  I taught at the Children’s Center for 6 years, and then went to Meadowlark Elementary to teach Junior Kindergarten for 4 years, Kindergarten-3rd grade Resource for 3 years and now I'm beginning my 3rd year of 3rd grade.  I have to say that 3rd grade is my favorite!!

I have been married for 18 years to my husband Brandon.   I have two daughters.  My oldest, Brooke, will be in 11th grade.  My youngest, Amber, will be in 7th grade.  They keep me busy with all of their activities, but they are also a great help at home and in classroom.  Actually, they have spent many hours in our classroom this summer helping me get it ready for you.  I love animals, especially my dog Oreo and my two cats Bob & Bella.  I enjoy spending time outdoors, gardening, reading, watching movies, and hanging out with my family and friends.

I am so excited to be your teacher this year!  I can’t wait to get to know all about you!
